During his inaugural season racing a Pro Lite truck in the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL,
place finish in Bark River, Mich.
"Last year was a major learning experience for us," said Lovell.  "We ran a very hectic schedule, but it was
such an amazing experience to race short course.  The fourth place finishes were a good start, and
something we will improve upon this season."
In preparing for the 2011 season, the Colorado Springs, Colo. native returns to his roots April 9 in the
Blackwell 250, an extreme off-road desert race near Blackwell, Texas.
The 34-year-old grew up at the wheel of his father’s Ford Bronco four-wheeling throughout the expansive
Colorado backcountry. With brother Roger helping, Lovell spent hours installing ever-bigger lift kits and
tires on his Ford Ranger and Bronco II. In the fall of 2003, the Lovell brothers took the plunge and
converted Brad’s Ranger into an all-out competition rockcrawler.
In professional rockcrawling, the goal is to navigate a course of boulders, rocks and other obstacles as
quickly as possible using the tow strap, reversing course and hitting barriers as little as possible. The sport
rewards teamwork, with the spotter (Roger) quickly determining the best route over each obstacle, while
the driver (Brad) successfully pilots the vehicle. Brad’s aggressive driving led to dozens of rollovers and
even more victories. The team won UROC championships in 2004, 2005 and 2006, as well as W.E. ROCK
championships in 2006 and 2008. Off the obstacle course, they won an XRRA rock racing championship in
2007, as well as numerous hill climbing and endurance events.
"We have proven that we are a winning program," said Lovell.  "Now it's time to transition that success over
to short course.  I believe we will see more consistency in TORC in 2011 while still being a top team in other
forms of racing."
This year, Brad will again attempt to carry his rockcrawling success onto the dirt track of the Traxxas
TORC Series presented by AMSOIL set to begin May 28-29 in Buchanan, Mich.
